The Libera choir from South London is in Waterford for a summer break – and will be us for the 12.00 Mass on Sunday the 4th August.
The boys attend many different schools and singing is their hobby. They travel widely, and have been to the US, Philippines, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan in the past 2 years alone.
Libera have appeared in Ireland before, at the National Concert Hall in Dublin where they gave a concert with the RTE orchestra – and in the North, at St Peter’s Cathedral in Belfast and Armagh Cathedral. The boys regularly sing at events and services in cathedrals and churches like Buckfast Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.
A couple of years back Libera sang at the Papal Mass in New York’s Yankee Stadium at the climax of Pope Benedict XVI’s first visit to the USA.
