REFLECTION:
Easter Greeting 2024
It is recorded that the tomb where Jesus lay was sealed with a huge stone, which the Roman soldiers guarded with their lives. This tomb not only sealed the body of Jesus but also the hopes and dreams of the disciples who mourned the loss of their Master and friend. In their grief and agony, the Apostles did not remember and could not understand the promise that Jesus had made to them: for the dawn of new life to begin, death must have its hour. Jesus had told his disciples, “The Son of Man must suffer and be killed, and on the third day be raised to life” (Luke 9:22).
The third day ended the darkness of pain and Jesus rose in all glory, the tomb becoming “the womb of new creation,” as a Saint so aptly described many centuries later. The Apostles and followers had an encounter with their resurrected Lord, and they were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit changes their grief into hope and their fear into courage. In fact, they are changed so much by the resurrection experience that they return to Jerusalem with immense joy and were continually in the temple, praising God (Luke 24:53).
Friends, sometimes in our lives we are faced with loneliness, fear, dejection, disappointments, and discouragements. Just like the Apostles, we may fail to understand the power of our Lord and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In such times, we are encouraged to believe that the same Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, will give us a grace to face and persevere in our own difficulties. All we need to do is surrender ourselves to the love of God and allow Him, through His Resurrected Son, to transform our lives.
As we do so, it is my privilege on behalf of Fr.Tadeusz, Fr. Mark and our Parish Pastoral Councils to say words of thanks and appreciation to all who make life in our Parish vibrant and faithful. Many take an interest in all that is celebrated and organised and they support us in our endeavours. We are thankful for peoples’ involvement and support in any way. Everything done and given, makes a big difference.
To all who prepared, organised, and attended our Triduum celebrations, we are very grateful. We thank our Sacristans, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Choirs, Cantors, Organists and Musicians, Church Carers, Collectors, Counters, Secretaries, Finance & Building Committees, Child Protection Officers, Baptismal Teams, Prayer Groups, Faith Representatives, Alpha Team, Cemetery/Church Grounds keepers. To them and to all who help in our Parish, we say a big “Thank You.”
To you all and your families, may this Easter season be a time of renewed hope, joy, and peace. May the Risen Lord enrich you all with His blessings and love.
We are always an Easter people and Alleluia is our song.
Fr. Richard

And we are grateful for the gift of life
And we give thanks to you
Our Lord Jesus Christ
And we find comfort in
His loving heart in life Amen.
