17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Friends, it has been a difficult week. The peace, safety, and sanctity which we have always felt and should always feel in our Church was disturbed by a distressing incident which took place early on Tuesday morning.
Our thoughts, prayers and best wishes remain with our friend Mary and her family, remembering too, all who will be suffering by this event.
I am immensely proud of the quick and heroic response by all present that morning. Their presence of mind, quick thinking, and care and assistance to Mary made all the difference. I am grateful also to An Garda Siochana and the National Ambulance Service who came to our assistance and managed the situation with professionalism and composure.
In frightening moments, the fruit of our faith, and who we are as people shined very bright. Everyone stood their ground. It was a testament to Faith, Hope, and Love in action. God’s grace and fortitude was mighty in everyone.
Mary and her family, along with all in our Parish have been greatly moved by the many messages, cards, calls and emails of support and consolation. We are stronger because of the thoughtfulness and kindness of so many who took the time to contact us from near and far. We appreciate everyone’s concern, prayers, and best wishes.
Many times, throughout His ministry, the Lord Jesus called upon people not to be afraid and to have courage. That divine call was heard, taken to heart, and witnessed to. None of our prayers have been in vain.
May God grace us all the more in the times ahead, helping us to be restored in peace and healing, and to move forward with Faith, Hope, and Love; the greatest of these being Love.

Fr. Richard, Fr. Tadeusz, Fr. Issac & Tramore Parish Pastoral Council.
