Reflection for the 3rd Sunday of Easter Sunday

 Hearts uplifted
I have met many people who found this story really helped at times when they were down, when there were disappointments in life, when they encountered illness and many of the crosses of life. They believed in him after he had vanished, having broken bread with them. He had accompanied them in a dark journey of life.
Jesus went to them – he did not await their visit. Somehow, he knew that people of his ‘set’ were in darkness and maybe despair. This is the call of the church – to be with us in prayer, community and service always, and especially for what Pope Francis calls’ the peripheries of life’. Most of us spend some time there, and appreciate the help of love and faith.
Then they went to tell the story of how they were changed. Faith grows through sharing it. A father said, ‘At my child’s first communion, my faith became stronger’.
They told their story of Jesus in the here and now, sometimes reminiscing on what things were once like in Galilee. Every journey of life can be an Emmaus journey where we meet the Lord. Every altar can be the altar of Emmaus, and indeed every meal can be a time of friendship, care and nourishment for body and for soul.
Notice this week where the Lord is present in love, care, creation,
an uplift of joy, prayer and the Eucharist.
Lord, lift my hope and my faith in your presence as the disciples
found their hearts burning when they listened to you

Weekly Contribution Envelopes

The new envelopes for 2026/2027 (Beginning May 3rd) are now available at the Parish Office for collection.

The Parish office will be open before & after all Masses this weekend 18th/19th April for your convenience.

Please have your current envelope number to hand when you call in to the office for your new box of envelopes

When the new envelope contribution year begins on May 3rd, please discard any unused 2025/2026 envelopes.

Any parishioner who is not registered for the weekly contribution envelopes, and would like to be, please contact the Parish Office.

Mass Booking

The Mass Book for July is open at the Parish Office. The August Mass Book will open on Friday 1st May at the Parish Office at 9.30am. Phone booking taken from 10am.

Mass to mark the 35th Birthday Remembrance of St. Carlos Acutis

Sunday 3rd May 2026 marks the 35th Birthday Remembrance of the newly Canonised St Carlo Acutis. To mark this special occasion, the first Birthday Remembrance since Carlo was Canonised last September, Mass will be offered on Sunday 3rd May 2026 at 12pm in Holy Family Church, Ardfinnan, Co Tipperary – the home of the First- and Second-Class relics of the saint in Ireland. The relic given by St Carlo’s mother will be made available to all for an individual blessing afterwards.

ADULT CATECHISM COURSE IN CLONMEL

An adult catechism course will be held at St. Oliver’s in Clonmel, beginning on Thursday April 23rd. The course will be recorded and it will be possible to participate in the following ways: in-person, online or at one’s own convenience by watching the video recording. The classes will be on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm. They will be cancelled a few times in the summer months, which will be announced probably a few weeks before each cancelled class. If you need further information, please contact Sr. Nadiya whose details are on the poster outlined below. This is a great opportunity to learn more about your faith in a way that suits your lifestyle.
