Diocesan Changes

In the wake of diocesan changes announced by Bishop Cullinan last weekend, it was announced that Monsignor O’Mahony will be retiring in the coming days. We wish Monsignor every blessing and good wish as he retires from parish ministry here in Tramore, since arriving in 2009. Monsignor has served as a priest in various parishes since his ordination in 1967, including London, Ballybricken, Tallow, Abbeyside, the Cathedral, Clogheen, Dungarvan and Tramore. He served as Vicar General during his time here in Tramore, and also served as Diocesan Administrator following Bishop Lee’s retirement in 2013. We wish him a long, happy and fulfilling retirement.

It was also announced that Fr. Richard O’Halloran will succeed him here in Tramore, and so we welcome Fr. Richard O’Halloran as our new parish priest. Fr. O’Halloran is a native of Carrickbeg, and he has served already here in Tramore as a curate in his first appointment in 2001, when he was here for two years. Since then, he has worked in the parishes of St. Paul’s and Portlaw and Ballyduff Lower. We welcome him on his return to Tramore, and we trust that his ministry here will be fruitful in many ways.
