Easter Message 2025

Friends, over the last week, we have journeyed with Christ through His passion and suffering, and now we celebrate His victory over all that tried to eliminate Him and destroy His message and example. In our celebrations, we linked our own lives and struggles, and those of our families and community to Christ. We poured out own worries, as Christ poured out His life; and in His rising we took strength, consolation, and hope to cope with all that we carry too.

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, Easter reminds us that we are very much part of Christ’s Resurrection, that we are partakers in such a positive and wonderful reality. Despite the ongoing war in Gaza and Ukraine, the persecution of Christians in Syria, and worldwide economic uncertainty, Easter is still a gift unlike any other. Easter is not a story from the past, it is an ongoing promise of our present and our future. The risen Lord walks with us in every moment. To burdens, He brings peace. In uncertainty, He gives hope. In death, He gives life. The Resurrection tells us that no darkness is too deep, no situation too hopeless, for God to redeem. As Spring burst forth after our long winter, Easter bursts forth with the promise that God is making all things new.

So, today, and always, let us live as an Easter people. Let us carry the joy and hope of this beautiful celebration. Let us carry our faith into our homes, our community, our workplace, our society. Let us smile at the stranger, forgive the one who has hurt us, reach out to someone in need. Christ is alive and His love shines in our acts of love. So, let us be bold in our hope, unshakable in our faith, radiant in our joy.

It is my privilege on behalf of Fr. Tadeusz and our Parish Pastoral Councils to say words of thanks and appreciation to all who make life in our Parish vibrant and faithful. Many take an interest in all that is celebrated and organised and they support us in our endeavours. We are thankful for peoples’ involvement and support in every way. Everything done and given, makes a significant difference.

To all who prepared, organised, participated, and attended our Triduum celebrations, we are incredibly grateful. We thank our Sacristans, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Choirs, Cantors, Organists and Musicians, Church Carers, Collectors, Counters, Secretaries, Finance & Building Committees, Child Protection Officers, Baptismal Teams, Prayer Groups, Faith Representatives, Alpha Team, Cemetery/Church Grounds keepers. To them and to all who help in our Parish, we say a big “Thank You.”

To you and your families, this Easter may the Risen Lord enrich you all with His blessings and love.

We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song.

Fr. Richard

Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your kingdom.

May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever. Amen
