CORPUS CHRISTI
As part of the Year of Faith, and of the link between faith and the Eucharist, Pope Francis has asked that Solemn Eucharistic Adoration be held throughout the world on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 2nd, 2013. On that day, at 4pm Irish Time – the Holy Father will preside at an hour of Eucharistic Adoration in St. Peter’s Basilica Rome, and has asked parishes throughout the world to be involved. The Holy Father hopes that “the universal scope of this moment is to be a gesture of spiritual sharing.”
There will be an hour of adoration next Sunday in Holy Cross as we join the Pope and the world for his unique event at 4pm – ending with Benediction at 5pm.
CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION
Our procession takes place after the 7.30pm Vigil Mass next Saturday evening June 1st.
As in previous years, the procession will be led by the boys and girls of 2nd Class who this year made their First Holy Communion.
Procession route will be out the church, up Peter Street into Moonlaun stopping for prayers and Benediction on Sweet Briar Green, before heading to the Marian Shrine in Marian Terrace.
(If the weather is bad, then the procession will take place in the Church.) Please make a special effort to attend the procession for this Year of Faith
