I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well in these difficult times. Since the Coronavirus, we have had to adapt to finding new ways of reaching out to people and keeping in touch. One helpful way has been the rise of video-conferences, using programmes like ‘Cisco’ and ‘Zoom.’
I am starting an informal parish Scripture reading group later this week via Zoom, and if you happen to be free, you are most welcome to join me. For the next couple of weeks, every Friday and Monday evening, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, we will read through the Acts of the Apostles, which we are currently reading at Mass during this Easter season.
I will offer a commentary as we read, and then there will be time for discussion and comments among the group. There is no pressure to join; you’re welcome to drop in for part or all of it. You don’t even have to reply to this email. The link below will take you to the meeting. Just click on it (if it’s your first time using Zoom, it will ask you to download it – click install/download etc.) and it should allow you in. (Note: try to log in about 10 mins beforehand to be ready to start on time)
The ‘new media’ has given us a golden opportunity to share the riches of our faith, especially the living Word of God. I look forward to seeing you Friday if you can join us, and feel free to spread the word if you can think of anyone else that might like to take part. Just let them know to check the parish website, and all they need to do is click on the link below about ten minutes before it starts, to get everything set up and put in the password to attend.
Click the link below to join us on Zoom every Monday and Friday at 7:30.
